🎯 Game Overview

"Pixel Tank Battle" is a retro-style game that pays homage to the classic Battle City on the NES/FC platform. Players drive their tank through a maze of brick walls, steel, and ice, aiming to destroy all incoming enemy tanks while protecting the Eagle Base located in the center bottom of the map.

• Game Goal: Destroy all 20 enemy tanks to proceed to the next stage.
• Failure Conditions: The player runs out of lives, or the Eagle Base is destroyed.

🛡️ Core Gameplay and Features

1. Player Tank

• Movement: Use the arrow keys or WASD/↑↓←→ to control the tank's direction and movement.
• Shooting: Use the Spacebar or Enter key to fire projectiles.
• Tier: The player tank can be upgraded by collecting Star (⭐️) items, which increases firing speed and power.
  • Tier 0/1: Increases firing rate.
  • Tier 2/3 (Advanced): Gains the ability to destroy steel walls.
• Lives: Starts with 3 lives, which can be replenished by collecting extra life items.
• Shield: Collecting the Helmet (⛑️) item grants a brief period of invincibility.

2. Enemy Tanks

You will face four distinct types of enemy tanks:

• Item Carrier: Some enemy tanks are "Item Carriers" and will drop a random power-up item upon destruction.
• Spawning: Enemy tanks continuously spawn from three fixed locations at the top of the map until the total quota of 20 is reached.

3. Map Elements and Power-ups

• Brick Wall: Can be destroyed by tank shells.
• Steel Wall: Only high-tier player tank shells can destroy this.
• Eagle Base: Located at the bottom center. Must be protected; its destruction leads to Game Over.
• Power-up Items: Randomly appear on the battlefield, offering temporary buffs or special effects.
  • 💣 Bomb: Instantly destroys all enemies currently on screen.
  • ⭐️ Star: Upgrades the player tank's tier.
  • ⛑️ Helmet: Grants the player a temporary invincibility shield.
  • ⏳ Timer: Temporarily freezes all enemy tanks.
  • ⛏️ Shovel: Temporarily fortifies the Eagle Base walls by turning surrounding bricks into steel.
  • ❤️ Life: Grants one extra life.
