What is Diep.io?
Diep.io is a top-down tank arena where destroying shapes earns experience and stronger players compete for control. Your tank develops through stat upgrades and class choices, so a run gradually becomes a particular combat build.
Upgrade choices change your fighting range
Bullets, body collisions and incoming fire all matter. A rapid-fire tank handles differently from a long-range branch or a body-damage build. Spreading upgrades without a plan can leave you unable to deal damage or escape when a rival arrives.
How to play Diep.io
- Choose a mode, move with WASD or the arrow keys, and aim with the mouse.
- Shoot nearby shapes from a safe distance to gain levels and upgrade points.
- Choose stat improvements that support one fighting style, then select a tank branch when offered.
- Approach a rival with an escape route, keep moving while firing, and retreat when your health drops.

From shape farming to a tank build
Destroy shapes → earn levels → choose stats and a class → test the build. A larger score does not cancel an opponent’s range or mobility advantage.
