What is Yohoho.io?
Yohoho.io is a pirate battle royale focused on close-range swings. You collect coins around the island and from defeated opponents, growing into a more imposing fighter while trying to be the last pirate standing.
A charged attack changes your reach
Holding the attack prepares a dash strike. It can close a gap, but committing into several pirates is dangerous. The shrinking playable area also limits how long you can avoid combat; choose fights with both your attack range and the island boundary in mind.
How to play Yohoho.io
- Start on an island and collect nearby doubloons before approaching a bigger pirate.
- Steer with the mouse or use WASD or the arrow keys; click or press Space to attack.
- Hold the attack to prepare a dash, then release toward an opening rather than a crowded group.
- Collect the defeated pirate’s loot and move inward before the danger zone closes around you.

Wait for the swing, then close in
Picture a rival finishing a swing just outside your reach. That pause is a better moment for a charged approach than meeting an attack head-on.
Tips for your next round
- Watch the boundary before committing to a chase.
- Keep an exit after a successful hit; another pirate may approach while you collect coins.
