What is Slither.io?
Slither.io is a mouse-steered snake arena where length creates opportunities rather than invincibility. You gather light scattered across the map and try to make other snakes run into your body.
Your head is the weak point
Touching another snake with your head ends the run. Their head touching your body defeats them instead, leaving food behind. Boosting helps you cut across an opening, but spends length; being bigger does not let you drive straight through an opponent.
How to play Slither.io
- Enter a nickname and join the arena; move the pointer in the direction you want to travel.
- Collect loose pellets in open space before approaching crowded feeding areas.
- Hold the mouse button for a short boost when you have a clear route across a rival’s path.
- After a crash, approach the food from the outside and keep an escape route open.

Picture a cut-off
Rival’s head → your crossing body = rival crashes. Your own head must clear the crossing first; length alone does not decide the encounter.
Tips for your next round
- Use short boosts instead of spending your size on an endless chase.
- Circle carefully when long, but check that a third snake cannot close the exit.
