Starve.io is a survival and crafting game where managing basic needs matters as much as finding better equipment. Gathering resources opens crafting options, but time spent exploring can leave you hungry, cold or exposed.
Preparation beats a last-second rescue
Food, warmth and other survival meters determine how far you can safely travel. A fire is useful only if you have prepared for it before the cold becomes critical. Tools improve gathering, while wildlife and other players can interrupt an otherwise efficient route.
How to play Starve.io
- Move with WASD and use the mouse to collect nearby wood and food.
- Inspect the crafting choices and make basic equipment with the materials available.
- Prepare a source of warmth and enough food before night or a trip into a colder area.
- Watch your survival meters while gathering better resources, returning to safety before they become emergencies.

Leave warmth → gather nearby resources → return with food remaining. Chasing one rare material is a poor trade if the return journey is no longer survivable.
